- 1 pound white fish fillets (like cod, haddock, or tilapia), cut into 1-inch strips
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Olive oil or other cooking oil for frying
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Place flour in another shallow dish and beaten eggs in a third.
- Dip each fish strip first into the flour, then into the eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with the panko mixture.
- Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the coated fish sticks in the hot oil, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove fish sticks from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately.
