Description
A simple recipe for a thick, velvety smoothie using frozen fruit for maximum creaminess.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 large frozen banana, sliced
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place the frozen blueberries, frozen banana slices, Greek yogurt, milk, chia seeds, and vanilla extract into a high-speed blender.
- Start blending on a low speed to break down the frozen fruit.
- Gradually increase the speed to high. Use the tamper if necessary to push the ingredients toward the blades.
- Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and thick. Add one tablespoon of milk at a time only if the blender struggles to move.
- Pour immediately into a glass and serve.
Notes
- For the thickest result, use only frozen fruit and minimal liquid.
- Substitute Greek yogurt with silken tofu or a thick coconut yogurt for a dairy-free version.
- Add 1 scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder for a high-protein meal replacement.
- If you do not have frozen fruit, add 4-5 ice cubes, but expect a slightly less creamy texture.
