Ingredients
Scale
- 3 racks pork spare ribs (about 3-4 pounds each)
- 1 cup cola
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
- Season the ribs generously with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet, bone-side down.
- Bake for 2.5 hours.
- While the ribs are baking, prepare the glaze: In a saucepan, combine cola, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until it thickens into a glaze.
- After 2.5 hours, carefully remove the ribs from the oven.
- Brush the ribs generously with the cola glaze.
- Return the ribs to the oven for another 30 minutes, or until the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
- Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For an extra smoky flavor, you can grill the ribs after glazing instead of returning them to the oven.
- Adjust the sweetness of the glaze by adding more or less brown sugar.
- Ensure good ventilation when cooking ribs as they can produce a strong aroma.
