Description

Enjoy these tender and flavorful Cola-Glazed BBQ Ribs, a perfect centerpiece for your summer cookout. This recipe delivers a sweet and sticky glaze that will have everyone asking for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 racks pork spare ribs (about 3-4 pounds each)
  • 1 cup cola
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
  3. Season the ribs generously with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. Place the ribs on a baking sheet, bone-side down.
  5. Bake for 2.5 hours.
  6. While the ribs are baking, prepare the glaze: In a saucepan, combine cola, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
  7. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  8. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until it thickens into a glaze.
  9. After 2.5 hours, carefully remove the ribs from the oven.
  10. Brush the ribs generously with the cola glaze.
  11. Return the ribs to the oven for another 30 minutes, or until the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
  12. Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For an extra smoky flavor, you can grill the ribs after glazing instead of returning them to the oven.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the glaze by adding more or less brown sugar.
  • Ensure good ventilation when cooking ribs as they can produce a strong aroma.
