Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar and cocoa powder until well combined.
- Add the salt and baking powder to the mixture. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If using, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares.
Notes
- For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them.
- Ensure your cocoa powder is unsweetened for the best flavor.
- Using room temperature eggs will help create a smoother batter.
