- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges, like a pizza.
- In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Arrange the tortilla wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the tortilla wedges with melted butter.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered wedges.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the chips are golden brown and crispy. Watch them closely to prevent burning.
- While the chips are baking, prepare the caramel dip. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, heavy cream, and salt.
- Stir constantly until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously, until it thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat. The caramel will thicken more as it cools.
- Let the churro chips cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
- Serve the warm churro chips with the caramel dip.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can bake the chips for a minute or two longer, but be careful not to burn them.
- If you prefer a thinner caramel dip, add a little more heavy cream.
