Scale
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup fresh strawberries, sliced (for mixing in)
- Extra sliced strawberries and chocolate shavings (for topping)
Instructions
- In a jar or container, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, cocoa powder, maple syrup, milk, Greek yogurt (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
- Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and the cocoa powder is dissolved.
- Gently fold in the 1/4 cup of sliced strawberries.
- Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
- In the morning, stir the oats. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk until you reach your preferred consistency.
- Top with the extra fresh strawberry slices and chocolate shavings before serving. Enjoy your sweet surprise!
Notes
- Adjust the sweetener to match your taste preference.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
- For a thicker texture, use less milk or add an extra half teaspoon of chia seeds.
- Prepare this for two by simply doubling all the ingredients.
