Description

Make a special Valentine’s breakfast with these rich Chocolate Strawberry Overnight Oats. This simple recipe lets you prepare a delightful surprise the night before.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh strawberries, sliced (for mixing in)
  • Extra sliced strawberries and chocolate shavings (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a jar or container, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, cocoa powder, maple syrup, milk, Greek yogurt (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and the cocoa powder is dissolved.
  3. Gently fold in the 1/4 cup of sliced strawberries.
  4. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. In the morning, stir the oats. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk until you reach your preferred consistency.
  6. Top with the extra fresh strawberry slices and chocolate shavings before serving. Enjoy your sweet surprise!

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetener to match your taste preference.
  • Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
  • For a thicker texture, use less milk or add an extra half teaspoon of chia seeds.
  • Prepare this for two by simply doubling all the ingredients.
