Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Optional: Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, toss the chicken pieces with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for a few minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated chicken to the hot skillet and stir-fry until it’s browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the broccoli florets to the same skillet. Add 1/4 cup of water, cover, and steam for 3-5 minutes, until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
- Stir in the sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Stir everything together to combine.
- Serve immediately, optionally over cooked rice.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
- You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breast if you prefer.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
