Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats

Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and half of the caramel sauce. Pour the apple mixture into a greased 8×8 inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  7. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the crisp before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
  • You can use a mix of apple varieties for a more complex flavor.
