Cajun Shrimp Alfredo Pasta combines succulent shrimp with a creamy, spicy Alfredo sauce, creating a delightful blend of flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fettuccine pasta
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, and Parmesan cheese. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
- Return cooked shrimp to the skillet and gently toss with the pasta and sauce.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning and cayenne pepper to your preferred spice level.
- For a richer sauce, use half and half instead of chicken broth.
- Leftovers store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
