Description

A simple recipe for preparing sweet corn kernels with butter on the stovetop.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ears fresh sweet corn, kernels removed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the corn kernels to the skillet. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is tender-crisp.
  3. Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 more minute until the butter is fully melted and coats the corn.
  4. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use browned butter instead of regular melted butter.
  • You can substitute frozen corn kernels; thaw them slightly before cooking.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped parsley at the end for color and fresh flavor.
