Ingredients

- 2 cans (16 ounces each) pork and beans, drained
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the drained pork and beans, onion, green bell pepper, brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, bourbon, and mustard.
- Pour the mixture into a 2-quart baking dish.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the top.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of bourbon to your preference.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- These beans are a great side dish for barbecues and potlucks.
