Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 1/4 cup dried lavender buds
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar, or to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- Fresh blueberries and lavender sprigs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the dried lavender buds to the boiling water.
- Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 10-15 minutes.
- Strain the lavender-infused water into a pitcher, discarding the lavender buds.
- Add the blueberries to the warm liquid and gently mash them to release their juice. Let them steep for another 5 minutes.
- Strain the liquid again to remove the mashed blueberries, pressing gently to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the blueberry pulp.
- Stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved. Start with 1/4 cup and add more if you prefer a sweeter tea.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and stir well.
- Chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until thoroughly cold.
- Serve over ice, garnished with fresh blueberries and lavender sprigs if desired.
Notes
- For a stronger lavender flavor, steep the lavender buds for a few minutes longer.
- Adjust the sugar and lemon juice to your personal preference.
- You can use a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to strain the tea for a clearer result.
- This iced tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
