Description

Enjoy guilt-free crunch with these baked zucchini fries. They are a healthier alternative to traditional french fries, offering a delicious and satisfying twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium zucchinis
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and trim the ends of the zucchinis. Cut each zucchini into 1/4-inch thick sticks, resembling french fries.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another shallow dish, beat the egg.
  5. Dip each zucchini stick first into the beaten egg, letting any excess drip off.
  6. Then, dredge the zucchini stick in the Parmesan and breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  7. Place the coated zucchini sticks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the zucchini fries.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy your guilt-free crunch!

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can add a touch of paprika to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara or a healthy yogurt-based dip.
  • Ensure zucchinis are patted dry before coating to help the mixture adhere better.
