Description
Enjoy a healthy and delicious homemade snack with these baked sweet potato chips. They’re perfectly crunchy and a fantastic alternative to store-bought chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large sweet potato
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional seasonings: paprika, garlic powder, chili powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and scrub the sweet potato. Slice it very thinly, about 1/16 inch thick. A mandoline slicer is helpful for uniform slices.
- In a bowl, toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add any optional seasonings you like.
- Arrange the slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they don’t overlap.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, then flip each chip and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until they are crisp and lightly browned. Watch them closely to prevent burning.
- Let the chips cool on a wire rack. They will crisp up more as they cool.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, ensure your slices are very thin.
- Adjust baking time based on your oven and the thickness of your slices.
- Store cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
