Description

Make these simple Baked Chicken Tenders for a game day treat the whole family, especially the kids, will love. They are easy to prepare and bake up perfectly crispy.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat with cooking spray.
  2. Set up a standard breading station with three shallow dishes. Place flour in the first dish.
  3. Place beaten eggs in the second dish.
  4. In the third dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.
  5. Take one chicken tender strip and dredge it completely in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  6. Dip the floured strip into the egg mixture, letting any extra drip off.
  7. Press the strip firmly into the seasoned breadcrumbs until it is fully coated.
  8. Place the breaded tender on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining chicken strips, leaving a little space between each one.
  9. Lightly spray the tops of the breaded tenders with cooking spray for extra crispness.
  10. Bake for 18-22 minutes, flipping the tenders halfway through, until they are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  11. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • You can substitute whole wheat flour for white flour if you prefer.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • These tenders reheat well in an air fryer for maximum crispness the next day.
