- 24 cupcakes baked and cooled
- 3 cups vanilla frosting
- Red food coloring
- Blue food coloring
- White sprinkles or small candies
Instructions
- Arrange the cooled cupcakes on a large serving platter or board in a rectangular shape resembling a flag. You’ll need 4 rows of 6 cupcakes each.
- Tint about 1/4 cup of the vanilla frosting blue. Spread the blue frosting on the top left corner cupcakes (a 2×2 or 2×3 section).
- Tint the remaining vanilla frosting red. Divide the red frosting and spread stripes across the remaining cupcakes. Alternate red and white stripes (using the plain vanilla frosting for the white).
- Decorate the blue section with white sprinkles or small candies to represent stars.
- Optionally, use a piping bag with a star tip to add decorative touches to the red and white stripes.
Notes
- You can use a box cake mix and canned frosting for convenience.
- Ensure cupcakes are completely cool before frosting.
