Description
Prepare tender carrots coated in a simple, sweet maple glaze using your air fryer. This side dish cooks quickly and works well for weeknight dinners or holiday meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Place the sliced carrots in a bowl. Add the olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss until the carrots are evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
- Place the seasoned carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer if possible; work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry the carrots for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
- In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup.
- After 10 minutes, remove the basket and drizzle the maple syrup over the carrots. Gently toss the carrots in the basket to coat them with the syrup.
- Return the basket to the air fryer. Cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, watching closely, until the carrots are tender and the glaze is slightly sticky.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket; this allows the hot air to circulate and cook the carrots evenly.
- If your maple syrup is very thick, warm it slightly before drizzling to help it coat the carrots better.
- If you prefer softer carrots, increase the initial cooking time by 2-3 minutes before adding the glaze.
