  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for air fryer basket)


Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, red onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Pulse until the mixture is finely chopped but not a paste.
  2. Add the flour and pulse a few more times until just combined.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with olive oil.
  5. Shape the falafel mixture into small balls or patties.
  6. Place the falafel in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they don’t touch. You may need to cook in batches.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dips and accompaniments.

  • For best results, ensure your chickpeas are well-drained and rinsed.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, you can finely chop the ingredients by hand and mix them in a bowl.
