Scale
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 8 ounces ground chicken
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-2 Thai chilies, finely chopped (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and chopped chilies, and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Cook for another minute, stirring to combine.
- Add fresh Thai basil leaves and toss until wilted, about 30 seconds.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of chilies to your preferred spice level.
- If you can’t find Thai basil, regular basil can be used as a substitute, though the flavor will be different.
