Ingredients

  • Red Lentils: 1 cup, rinsed and soaked for 2 hours.
  • Water: 1/2 cup, adjust as needed.
  • Onion: 1 small, finely chopped.
  • Green Chilies: 2, finely chopped (optional).
  • Cumin Seeds: 1 tsp.
  • Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp.
  • Salt: 1/2 tsp.
  • Fresh Cilantro: 2 tbsp, chopped.
  • Oil: For cooking.
  • Garlic: 1-2 cloves, minced (optional).
  • Spinach: 1/2 cup, chopped (optional).
  • Carrots: 1 small, grated (optional).
  • Chili Powder: 1/4 tsp. (optional).
  • Cheese: Grated cheese (optional).

Instructions

  1. Soak the lentils for 2 hours.
  2. Blend the soaked lentils with water to make a smooth batter.
  3. Mix the lentil batter with chopped onion, green chilies, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, and cilantro.
  4. Heat a skillet and pour a ladleful of batter to form pancakes.
  5. Cook until golden brown on both sides and serve warm.
